"Serial range L7276 - L7584 This aircraft was one of 200 Manchesters ordered from A.V.Roe (Manchester) in Aug36 to Air Ministry Spec 19/37 and built as 157 Manchester 1/1A from 31Jul40, and 43 Lancaster MK.1 from Oct41 to Mar42. L7536 was delivered to 44 Squadron 28Dec41. L&536 took part in the Key Operation against Essen 10/11Mar42 - the first Lancaster operation. This aircraft was one of five Lancasters lost by 44 Squadron on the same operation. See L7537: L7565: R5506: R5510 L7536 Lanc.Mk.1 Airborne from Waddington 1512 17Apr42. Shot down 1655 by fighters near leVieil-Evreux (Eure), 6 km ESE of Evreux, France. All are buried in Evreux Communal Cemetry.
