"Serial Range HK535 - HK806 This aircraft was one of 200 Lancasters ordered from Vickers Armstrongs (Castle bromwich) as Mk.11s Sep41 and changed to Mk.111s Feb43, but built as Mk.1s from oct43 to Feb45. Up to HK773 had Merlin 22 engines initially installed, and all subsequent models Merlin 24 engines. HK570 was delivered to 514 Sqdn 1Jul44 Lost on its first Key operation When lost this aircraft had a total of 31 hours. HK570 was one of four 514 Sqdn Lancasters lost on this operation. See: HK571; LM181; ME858. Airborne 2313 20Jul44 from Waterbeach. Crashed 0159 21Jul44 in the sea off the Dutch coast. Sgt Taylor was washed up 21Jul44 at Renesse (Zeeland) on the northern side of of Schouwen Duiveland, 14 km NW from Zierikzee. He is now buried in the Bergen op Zoom War Cemetery. The other crew members are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
