"Serial Range ME554 - ME868 This aircraft was one of 250 Lancaster Mk.1s ordered from Metro- Vick May42 and delivered from Nov43 to Jan44 with Merlin 22 engines initially installed up to ME639 and Merlin 24 engines from ME640 onwards except for ME688/9 with Merlin 22 engines. ME619 was delivered to No.101 Sqdn ex-32MU ABC equipped 12Feb44. ME619 took part in the following Key Operations: Berlin 15/16Feb44; Leipzig 19/20Feb44; Stuttgart 15/16Mar44; Berlin 24/25Mar44; Nuremburg 30/31Mar44; D_sseldorf 22/23apr44-Lost When lost this aircraft had a total of 91 hours. Airborne 2240 22Apr44 from Ludford Magna on ABC duties. Hit by Flak at 20,000 feet in the area of Krefeld and crashed between the town and the Rhine at Lank-Latum. Those killed were buried locally. They have been subsequently re-interred in Rheinberg War Cemetery.
